Japanese films to be screened in cities

Eight popular Japanese films will be screened in the northern port city of Hai Phong from Oct. 29-31 and in the capital city of Hanoi from Nov. 5-10.

The Japanese film festival programme has been co-organised by the Japanese Cultural Exchange Centre in Vietnam, the Japanese General Consulate in HCM City, BHD Ltd. Co., Hai Phong Cinema and Film Publishing Centre and the National Cinema Centre.

The films, with English subtitles and Vietnamese voice-over, include “Rashomon”, “Sansho the Bailiff”, “Happy Flight”, “ Yunagi City, Sakura Country”, “5 centimetres per second” cartoon, “Memories of Tomorrow”, “Tony Takitani” and “Kamikaze Girls”.

Earlier, the films were screened in HCM City from Oct. 8-14 and in Nha Trang city of the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa from Oct. 22-24./.
